Discovery Scuba Diving Program

Discovery scuba diving program, also known as introductory scuba diving, is a supervised program designed for individuals with no prior diving experience. It provides a safe and accessible way to experience the underwater world. Participants typically receive basic instruction on scuba equipment and diving techniques before making a shallow dive with a certified instructor. These programs are popular in vacation destinations and are a great way to try scuba diving before committing to a full certification course. The experience allows people to explore marine environments, often including coral reefs and diverse aquatic life, under close supervision.

Discover Scuba Diving Program

Discovery Scuba Diving Program, or introductory scuba diving, covers a core set of skills designed to keep you safe and comfortable while exploring the underwater world under close supervision. Before you enter the water, you’ll receive a briefing that outlines the course, safety procedures, and an equipment orientation that covers the mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, tank, weights, and wetsuit. In shallow, controlled conditions, you’ll work on breathing calmly through the regulator, clearing your mask and regulator if water enters, and establishing buoyancy with your breath and gentle finning. You’ll learn assisted ascent techniques and how to breathe through a regulator while transitioning between gear, with optional mask removal and replacement underwater.
